Before viewing this clip from The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, try to imagine that you know absolutely nothing about politics, history, or current events. Erase from your memory the gun-walking scheme know as Fast and Furious, Benghazi, the DOJ spying on AP reporters, the bombing of a Doctors Without Borders hospital in Afghanistan, Hillary’s homebrew server, the IRS targeting Conservative groups, the VA scandal, the $400 million dollars in cash given to IranLoretta Lynch’s tarmac meeting with Bill Clinton, and Eric Holder being held in contempt of Congress.

All gone?

Now that you’ve completely forgotten the truth, you can watch this and have a good laugh.

Now, please try to recall all of the Obama era scandals you were previously asked to forget.

Next, imagine cutting together a series of news clips covering the Obama scandals. Picture the bloody handprint on the wall of the compound in Benghazi, night vision footage of bombs dropping on a hospital, the faces of slain border patrol agents Brian Terry and Jaime Zapata, sick Veterans waiting months to receive the treatment they desperately need, Sean Smith’s broken-hearted mother weeping, Hillary Clinton screeching, “What difference at this point does it make?!”

Take all of that and intercut it in your mind with video of news reports featuring the media complaining about Trump eating chocolate cake, an anchor acting appalled that Trump puts ketchup on his steaks (which he likes served well done!), a different broadcaster breathlessly reporting that Trump eats two scoops of ice cream while offering his guests only one, then finish it off with a reporter lying about Trump bowing to receive a medallion from the King of Saudi Arabia.

This new video that you’ve cut together in your head probably makes Obama look like a terrifying monster and Trump like a harmless buffoon.

That is the power of the edit my friends.
